Wonderful trip to Cache Valley, Saturday February 17, 2024

On Saturday, February 17, we had a great trip to Cache Valley.  Becky liked the four quilts I had finished for her project at the Birth Center in Las Vegas!  We finally got to take Sophie out to lunch. All the other days we have invited her - she was working.  We invited Eli also but he had a conflict. As we were driving into town, Eli texted and said his appointment was cancelled, was the invite still good?  Of course!  Any time spend with grandchildren is delightful!! He said he would meet us at the restaurant because he was giving plasma!

We went to Zupa's on Center Street and 7th North.  Neither of them had ever been there before.  We like the fresh food and free roll and strawberry!  It was fun to catch up with their lives and hear about their classes.  Both felt like they had done well in their mid-terms.

After lunch we went to Hyde Park and visited with James and Kimberly Tippetts.  They have been our mentors and leaders in the BYU Pathway program for our whole mission! They just got a call to go to Johannesburg and help with getting resource centers for the Pathway students!  So great to meet them in real time!  Eighteen months of Zoom meetings!!  We were able to let them know some things about South Africa - they will get there in May.
We next headed to Hyrum and helping on Kate and Ben's house.  Eli met us there, it was his first time.  We marked with the orange paint the studs in the wall - so the wall board could be nailed correctly.  Then Kate and Eli sealed the outside walls - caulking the bottoms.  Dad and I cleaned up debris and scraps.  Anna stopped by to say hello between her two jobs!
Eli caulking, Grandpa coming up the stairs!  The house has windows, doors and bathtubs! Their crew is ahead of schedule - we think because they all help each other so cheerfully!
